Fredericksburg Dance Company is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to providing continued arts education and performance opportunities for young dancers. FDC dancers are selected through open auditions each season, which gives students experience in the audition process that will benefit them for years to come.
FDC is a competitive dance company as well as a youth performance ensemble. Our Competitive Company travels to multiple events throughout the year and continues to acheive great success and recognition both regionally and nationally.Outside of competition, FDC produces high-quality, creative community based performances that feature our youth performance ensemble.
Our vision and scope goes far beyond performance. As an organization, we strive to cultivate an inspired community of dance students, educators, and artists. We attend dance conventions with world recognized instructors, and also bring in numerous guest teachers from across the globe in order for our dancers to expand their training and experience the knowledge, inspiration and passion of seasoned guest artists.
Through the years, more than 20 FDC alumni have gone on to pursue dance in college, several with full scholarships to some of the nation’s most revered universities, and many continue to achieve successful careers in the dance industry.FDC is ever evolving and we have exciting plans for the future. Our objective as a non-profit is to provide dancers of every economic background with funding to continue their artistic growth & development and successfully accomplish their present and long-term dance aspirations.
FDC is fully sustained through fundraising and tax-deductible donations. Together with our Board of Directors and our new and existing contributors, we will faithfully assist our dancers on their journey and will always encourage them to follow their dreams and provide them with every opportunity possible to reach their goals.
